Steering Wheel

Hello everybody,

I searched and searched and still did not find anything and that's why I ask here for help.
I'm just in the process to put a Kenwood DNX 9960 into my 2005 BMW and I have two questions.
The steeringwheel has two knobs, one for speaking and the ohter one for radio/phone and I would like to use both of them.
The problem is, how can I find the cables, where are they hidden?
The second question is about the microphone in the overhead aerea.
I would like to use this as well, but also here the same question.
Where can I find the wire???

I would be verry happy, if anybody coul help me out, or even had a picture or so.

cheers
stranz

I have a Metra, it's much easier to install and this is not the question.
The new unit has a knob that I have to press if I want to take a call.
But because there is already a knob in the wheel, I would like to use it.
The same with the mic, if I could find the cable, I could use the build in insteat of adding a other one.
The Mic and the speak button are in addition to the interface.
They have separate connections.

The bluetooth wires will be in a 54 pin plug under the left base cover in your spare tire compartment. The steering wheel control wires will be in an 18 pin plug in the center console where the factory phone module connects into.

Now I'm stuck
First I instaled a Axxess Metra Interface and it did not work at all
Well, I thought, maybe the x5 is one of the cars who will not work with this unit and so I bought the PAC SWI JACK and what should I say.......
the same, not working
Does anybody have a clou or had the same problem?????
Because the former owner had a Ipod connection installed, perhaps he turned some cables???
What colour does the connecting cable have?
In Pin #9 is a white one with" yellow-grey kind of this colour" stripes on it.
BTW, I put the old radio and the cd-player back in between and with thoose, the steering wheel worked fine.
