At night they look even better. Going to have to buy NCS and turn the damn corner lamps off. Don't know when I'll get the time for that, but one can hope.

I'll try to get pics tomorrow to show off, lol.

Turbo, how did it go for you with getting the light replaced?

They told me to send it back for evaluation. I need to pack it and go to the post office, but didn't have time yet.

I'll rename this thread to vxx longetivity.

I received the new, or rebuilt AE about 3 weeks ago. I installed it and it works.

When I shipped my AE, it had a rubber o-ring around it, and it was in the original box (with molded plastic).
When I received it back, there was no o-ring, and it was stuffed in a used box with packing paper. Also, when installing it, I could hear a metallic sound. After investigation, I found that the front part was unscrewed from the body. I thightened it, and had to go to the hardware store to buy a o-ring.

I emailed them to let them know all that, so they can improve a bit on QC, but they never replied.
When I was in contact with them at first for details about shipping etc, they were replying promptly.
The funny thing is that their emails are never signed by someone, only Umnitza appears at the bottom.

I don't know if I'm too picky, but at least I would have liked to have a reply to my last email.

Well, I really hope the AE will last, for a long time...

I'm sorry it didn't work out as well as it should have.
We recently got a new web site built and a lot of customers told us that their emails weren't being received. Please resend, we would be happy to help you if you still need assistance.

Are you guys talking about to have the corner lights off during night? I have the BMW scanner 1.4, does that work?

How much cheaper can I have the VXX from Umnitza as a member of xoutpost.com?

Yea I think your tool can turn off the corners in pos 1. Umnitza sometimes has black Friday and Christmas deals. After having these for 6 months I figured out the problem why they all fail. The cold monitoring has to be disabled on the AE lights. If it is not disabled, it makes them flicker every time you start the car.

No mine are still working, but the driver side started flickering. Not a good sign. The flickering will burn these things out. Cold monitoring is the car doing a bulb check without you turning the lights on. If you disable that, the issues with burning aftermarket AE bulbs will go away. Your system will still monitor for burnt bulbs when you turn the AEs on. TerminatorX5 was the one that discovered this, and I think he can use $10 eBay bulbs with no issues.

Sorry to revive an old thread. Is there a process for disabling cold monitoring?

You need to code it off with NCS expert. There is a coding thread on the first page, there are code lines in there to help find what you are looking for.
