Won't start after running through a puddle

It was raining very hard yesterday when I hit this puddle. It was on the right side of the truck and as deep as the curb maybe 6". After I went through it about 30 mph my self level inactive error came up but the truck was still running fine. When I got to my shop I looked at the right front and the plastic behind the right front wheel was pulled down a little. Put it back the way it was and about an hour later tried to start it and it won't. It turns over but won't start. Anyone have any ideas?

Not real sure what exactly the problem is but, check your relays and fuses in the glove box, etc maybe the water splash caused a short in your ignition wires?

Good Luck!!

There were X5s that forded small creeks (not that I suggest that SAV is an off-road vehicle) that you can find the videos of... So, water might not have been a direct contributor to the problem... on the other hand, if water got inside the car, say one of the grommets or plugs was open and water got inside the battery compartment, and then shorted something...

Do you know how to get to the battery compartment? it is under the spare tire in the E53... take a look there

Checked all that. Going to get some starting fluid to see if it's not geting fuel or spark. Just weird it ran fine for a half hour after I went through the water no spitting or sputtering nothing. Wondering if it has something to do with the self leveling not working.

time to check the fuses - there was a thread recently, where a guy was chasing the same problem (not water related), until he found some weird fuse in some weird place...
