Upper tailgate does not works!!!
Hi,
I moved from America to Europe and my X5 was without the negative cable of the battery during 3 months. When I received my X5 in Europe, in order to reconect the negative cable to the battery, I opened the upper tailgate manually following the procedure of the owner manual (pulling the inside tab/cable). After the battery was reconnected everything works fine, except that the upper tailgate is not working anymore. I already repositioned the inside tab/cable, and unlock manually the mechanism. After this if I use the remote key or I push directy in the outside rubber under the tailgate, I am able to see a sound that comes from the Fuse Box. The sounds comes directly from the purple Relays, it sounds like: "click" then after 1 second, a "clock" is heard and then after 1 second a final third "click" is heard" .
These sounds are generated when I use the remote key for opening the tailgate or when I direct push the rubber under the tailgate. It means that the action is actually triggered in the right way but apart from these noises coming from the FUSE box , I am not able to hear the normal sound that unlocks the tailgate. It seems like the meachism was isolated from the electronic part that trigger the opening.
Could you please let me know how to solve this issue if possible?
Thanks and Regards.
