CCV post #345,987,320 - need confirmation of part

So, I'm replacing the oil separator and related hoses on my 2002 4.4i model. Already ordered the hoses and separator (item #1 below) but I was told by my Indy shop to replace the "oil valve" too which is a common failing point. I'm not sure if it's indicated in the illustration below. Please clarify.

i have never seen the oil separator go bad, the main parts to replace are the 2 large hoses, the really tiny hose to the crankcase vent, and the short hose from the oil separator to the drain back to the oil sump, and the actual crankcase vent valve pictured but not numbered on the parts diagram.
