Aux input install option
I have the regular CD stereo so I'm not sure how this would work. |

Interested as well. Have you sent any questions to the ebay seller?

Not so sure about that one, but BMW has an option available for most of the factory sound system. Since you don't have navigation the Auxiliary Input Kit found HERE is the one recommended for E53s without navigation.

That should work fine as long as your car was produced after 10/02. I don't think older headunits had the aux function

@DallasGV: I haven't contacted the seller yet. I want to look at the back of the stereo to look if it really has that 8-10 pin plug before I contact the seller. I have the regular stereo so I don't know how to switch it to Aux even if it works so we'll see.
@ECS Tuning: Thanks for the reply, I saw that on your site but I don't know if it would apply to my car since it was built in 2001. @Miniz guy: yeah I don't know how it'll work. I guess i'll find out. Anyone know if the stereo on pre 02 built E53 has the 8-10 pin input? Will save me from removing the radio. |

Since your an 01 I'd pop of the radio and look for the slot for the plug on the back it.

Thanx we350z. The more i think about it, the ebay cable is just to easy/good to be true.. But I have a beater Jetta that I believe has that plug in the back, might get it and try it on it. Thanks.

Where is the input being installed? I can't think of a handy spot off the top of my head, but I just picked up my X5 a week ago.

I have mine installed in the ashtray, right where the cigarette holder is. It fits perfectly there and tucks away nicely when not needed.
