system for fuel sensor/pump

I got 2001 BMW X5 with 150K miles and took the x5 to dealership with fuel guage problem. The dealer diagnosis with fault in system for fuel sensor/pump in the rear passenger side. Can you please tell me where is the fuel sensor located it or do I need to replace the whole fuel pump? Can I just replace the fuel sensor instead of whole pump and the sensor. The dealer want to charge $650 for replace the fuel pump/with sensor.

Go to realoem.com and you'll see the diagram for the fuel sensors and pump. If you remove the rear seat you should see the access panels for the tank sensors/pump.
