Wheel Load Limits?

Why are none of the wheel vendors on this forum providing load limit info for their wheels when you view their websites??? There is a thread in here that shows an X5 on E46 wheels, I would bet that if the truck were loaded and a 2,000 lb trailer attached, it would exceed the wheel load limit.

They will break for sure!

I got this from BBS regarding their CH-R model:

' I am afraid but this won't work. Since X53 is a heavy vehicle it requires wheels with a sufficient wheel load index.

Our AI002 in 20"x10, offset 35 which we officially offer for this car got a wheel load index of 950kg

Whereas CH113 got a wheel load index of 650kg and CH114 of 728kg only.

That's the main reason we don't offer CH-R for X5 '

So, always confront the manufacturer, buyer beware.

When it comes to wheels, some members and vendors on the forum are operating under the flawed premise "if it fits, it MUST be OK". This could be a fatal error for the modder. A loaded V8 X5 WITHOUT a trailer needs a minimum wheel load index rating of almost 700kg, add a 6000lb trailer and it jumps to 825kg.
