Pull Out Trunk Shelf as an Add On?

There are obviously the versions that did and did not come with the pull out sliding shelf but is there a way to do it as an add on retrofit to an X5 that currently doesn't have it?

I did a search both here and on Google using the various related words but couldn't pull up any discussion on the matter.

Also, aside from the obvious benefit of ease of load/cargo handling with the sliding tray, are there any drawbacks to having it?

Thank you,
MANGO

There is little space in the trunk as it is, with the pull out there is even less. I have one of each and I am not convinced by the pull-out.

It was on my list of must haves when looking for my current x, but have found its not as usefull as expected. There is alway a bag of shopping that falls of the back when pulling it out.

it helps loading some big stuff (like the TV table i purchased a while back). but it also takes space, and makes it even harder to reach the battery or spare tire. so i don't know, i think it's nice to have... i like sophistication :p

Well, that settles it then. No pull out loader for me.

Besides, after looking up the associated costs for doing it, holy cow, it's not that cheap!
