What a stupid problem. Help!

Just put my car away for a couple months. Unhooked battery. All is well. EXCEPT I just closed the trunk.. And now it's closed and won't open up. How will I get in there to re open it and get the battery connected again? Omg I feel like an idiot

Ha ha! You're an idiot!

I have done this exact thing when I had to replace my battery and took the old one to swap out for core exchange while my X5 sat at home. Climb in and crawl into the cargo area. There is an emergency release tab in the upper hatch. It's a small square or rectangular piece of plastic you have to pop out. Pull the tab and you're back in business.

Or pop the hood and hook up jumpers under the hood.

That is nearly impossible. You can't get the cargo floor up, spare tire out (if it's still in), etc, from the passenger side. I've tried.

There is a forth option. You could just take to the door with an axe

Hahaha thanks guys!

Checked out the safety hatch, it worked on my moms x5. Let's hope it's the same for mine. As for hooking up jumpers. I don't think that would work bc doesn't the charge need to flow through the battery? Since its disconnected there's not a full circuit..

We will find out in 4 months. In the meantime, wish me luck on semester at sea!! Going around the world. Freaking out!
