SES light - no codes!

I have a 2001 4.4i and the stupid SES light keeps coming on. I have checked and there are no fault codes. So I reset it and it may stay off for a week or a day and occasionally it goes off all by itself. But eventually it comes back on again. I have searched here and could not find anything. Any one ever run into this?

I have an '01 4.4 as well. What are you using to pull codes?

This.

I'm thinking there are codes/faults but not being picked up with his scanner. If you have access to a GT1 or something similar then I think you'll get more info.

I used a Bluetooth ODB2 and an Android App called Torque and it reads everything my x5 has thrown at it.

i have both the peak tool and a blutooth adapter for my iphone running Rev. With the peak adapter I can turn off the SES light. Sounds like I need to get to my local BMW mechanic and see if there are codes I can't see.
