BMW X5 Rain Wind Window Visor - anyone???

Hey guys did anyone ever used side windows visors (rain visor) on your X5? It would be great to see some pics. I used it on my E39 it is very practical but it was killing sport look of my 5. I think on SUV like X5 it would not me that bad at all? What you think? it is nice to drive on local roads with window down little bit while is raining outside. Get some fresh air.

yuck... I guess if you are smoker fine but they look tacky on the X5 to me.

That said... I do have them on my pick-up and they look ok IMO.

I am not smoker just like fresh air sometimes instead of AC and when I drive faster wind just hit straight in to face.

These will add wind noise on the hi-way, even with the window up. Crack the sunroof at the back a little bit and the fresh air will come in thru the dash vents MUCH quicker and you won't get rain inside at speed.

Unfortunately no sunroof
I think they will not be very noticable because my X is black with black soroundings around windows. No chrome. So black visor should just fin nicely without being so noticable like puting them on silver X with chrome.

They tend to add a little wind noise over 65ish
Work well though.
I have found myself leaving the window partially open when locking the car.
Sand gets in and they crackle when opening and closing.
Install was a breeze, just READ the directions.
Bought at the dealer, 100.00

VERY simple. They are included. I read them thoroughly and will summarize.

My version:
clean your track tops
rear first, to build confidence.
all windows down.
only rear has adhesive
leave adhesive covering on while you angle them until they fit (machined edges) into the front and rear grooves.
slide to the top, into the channel. Get comfortable with what you re seeing and feeling.
slide down, remove covering and install, closing the window 10 times to seat well.

FRONTS are tricky.
A. You must torque them to install.
B. At the front vertical edge, NOTHING is in the channel! The outer black piece is over the lower, outer trim moulding and the inner black piece is against the inside of the outside trim. This will make sense when you see the piece.
C. The ANGLED edge goes INSIDE the channel.

I started with the vert edge and let it rest in the channel.

Lowered the rear edge about 1 foot below the top of the window.

(insert leading edge, then REAR edge)

Beginning at the leading edge, pull outward slightly and tuck the start of the curve in, working to meet the rear portion already in the groove.

DO NOT try to tuck it in if the upper rear portion is not in the channel.

NOW, you need to UN-fit the leading edge. (Where the machined edge of the in-channel ANGLED portion meets the out of channel vertical portion.) Seat top 80% into the channel and the bottom portion (VERTICAL) outside the channel.

lift black tab to straddle the outer 'wiper' part of the seal.

test closing to check fit

if aligned, close 10 times to seat.
