Anyone install a 4.6 instument cluster on a 4.4?
Gas consumption gauge on 4.4 is a oil temp on the 4.6
Will it work or not

There is no gas consumption needle in the 4.6is cluster. Oil Temp needle will not work and neither are the LEDs on the tachometer.

They do that because they dont want you to know that the 4.6 is getting 2 mpg.

On my last long trip I averaged 18.22 mpg and this was with full trunk and wife, kid and more stuff piled up on seats.

They are referring to the gauge at the bottom of the cluster that shows your instantaneous fuel economy (MPG), not the fuel guage.
