Got my new Bently Manual today, I felt like Steve Martin in the Jerk

So I waited 3 years to buy one of these things. I thought what could possibly be worth $85 to $90. Well Sunday I broke down and ordered one, I just got tired of not have a good referrence manual.

Whoa, this is a fine Hardback book that is so explicate. And beautifully printed and laid out. I think I'll be able to rebuild my engine between the commercials on the Super Bowl Broadcast this Sunday. Just for kicks!

I can see this is worth every penny, very detailed. I read through removing the transmission. not that I need to but, I think I could do it.

Anyway, I will be reading and learning.

Does this manual track the location and connection points for the radio antenna?

Can you look in your Bentley to see fluid capacities for 5 speed MANUAL trans, front and rear differentials and transfer case?

And also fluid capacity for power steering?

Lastly, does the Bentley manual say what fluid goes in the 5 speed manuals transmission, my car is a 2003 build pre-Xdrive pre-6 speed

Thanks!

Hello Guys,
I want to be a nice guy. and helpful too. But between my private messages and now 2 posts here I''ve had a bunch of requests for pages scanned and information. My staff (me) is protesting. It's not me it's my staff... gotta keep em happy.

Send me a private message after you have done an exhaustive search on Google, here and elsewhere. etc. I'll do what I can.

Yea Ghost, the Manual is the shit. I too have one. I started reading it in the bathroom, just to get familiar.

Some stuff pisses me off though. No clear instructions how to take the center console apart. I installed an AUX port, and wanted it by the cig lighter. Had to make a few special tools to snake, and then feed it from the inside without taking anything apart.

Other than that, love it. Torque specs, capacities and a ton of other info right at your fingertips.

Really?

Haden't thought about asking for copies and scans.
I would much rather get my own. I just needed to
know if the information is in the manual before I spend my dough.

HaHaHa, mine is bathroom reading material too! Won't do ANYTHING on my X without looking it up. Anyone working on their X without torque specs is flirting with disaster!!! It's amazing how that thing is held together with such little torque on so much stuff.

I agree, a little too much torque, and boom you need to pull out the bolt extractor.

It's all engineered, so it makes sense to have the bolts at a certain spec.

I'm one of those people that get's bothered by tire shops using their 200ft - lb impact gun to tighten up your wheels. I tell them to get the bolts just tight, and I'll take care of it the rest of the way, with the torque wrench.
