Aftermarket stereo - no sound

Hello I have a 2002 X5 3.0i, it has the "business cd" stereo with the amp & subs and x # of speakers. Pixels are out so I want to install an Alpine HU and I got the harness but all it does is power on, no sound. It appears that the speaker wires do not match up between the factory harness and the install harness. Also, I noticed that there is no am/fm reception.

Is it possible to utilize the factory amp and antenna (I used an adaptor wire but still no reception)?

Is there a way to communicate with the factory amp using factory wiring and Alpine HU (without having to run cables all the way back)?

Sorry I didn't see message till now. Hard to say w/o seeing your harnesses. It is possible to utilize all the factory stuff when replacing the head unit. The harness needs to provide the factory amp with a turn-on signal, this is the blue remote wire in the harness, connect it to the blue white remote wire from the Alpine. Secondly, the X has an amplified antenna, so you must have an antenna adapter with a wire that needs to get 12volts from the Alpine also.
