Bosch coils DO NOT FIT

So I spoke too soon, the coil from BOSCH don't fit at all, they are too short and do not make contact with the spark plugs and starts throwing codes like crazy.
I install the old ones ,cleared the codes all good. to bad I really want them to work, lessoned learned.
I will give update on the new ones and which brands fits correctly.

Make sure that the harness is pushed in all the way on each coil. The little connector that clicks down will not pull the harness in all the way. There are two types of Bosch ignition coils available for our cars. One clicks down on the spark plug and the other sits over it. Both will work you just have to double check that harness.

If you end up returning the coils I recommend switching to 12138616153 Delphi's they seem to have the best track record. Its a newer coil but we can use it on our cars and it works great.

Bosch 12138647689, Really was a scary moment there, I put the old ones in cleared the codes, I told the tech , I guess they just don't make coils for my car more, plus I feel better knowing that they are snapped in and not sitting on top of my spark plug

Thanks , I tried to reseat all the coils and they where throwings code, I am a electrician and I woyld never relay on a connection that sit over a contact.
They even sent a flier says that this is a issue also .
I prefer a reliable product , I did go through all the plugs to make sure they fit ,no luck and my engine was making BAD SOUNDS, NOT GOOD FOR MY CAR.

Try those Delphi's man.
I'm in the parts business and its all I really sell these days for 06+ BMWs.
I have seen plenty of issues with the Bosch coils.

FCP should warranty and take them back no questions asked

Olek can you check your parts for the M54 for me and see if they are still taking Bosch coils or are they also taking a new Delphi/Eldor part # nowadays?

Sorry about that I feel bad now - anyway I went back on RealOEM and it seems the 8 cylinders and most of the newer cars spec a part # that is supplied by Eldor - whereas my M54 uses part # 12138616153 - which is supplied by Delphi and no longer Bosch

I'll be going with the Delphi coils on my I6 with some fresh NGK Iridium's in the next week or two just for maintenance and to refresh the system a bit
