Multi-Contour / Comfort Seats Retrofit Possibility?

Hey guys, this forum has been amazing on my quest for the perfect 05-06 4.8. I thought I found the absolute perfect one for me but it only has the Sport seats. I have test driven X5's with the multi-contour seats...20 point articulation and mid-back pivoting (sometimes referred to as comfort seats). Being 6' 3" with some back issues they offered me a level of comfort and fit that I honestly never even imagined achievable by any vehicle. Really...and I do a fair amount of long drives for work.

So, is there any relatively clean or easy way to swap the sports seats for the multi-contour seats? My guess is probably not but I wanted to see what feedback is out there. I think half the trouble may be finding available mc seats. Then I'm not sure if it'd be very plug and play to swap them. Thanks for the feedback.

I have the same problem. Also want the comfort instead of the sport seats. As far as I know it is a simple job. Sports out, comforts in, just like that.
Problem here in Europe is to find a nice set comfort seats.

I was in the same boat--6'4" and wanted the comfort seats. I just kept looking and eventually found a 4.6 with the comfort seats. My problem was that I also I wanted a few other options, maintenance history, etc.

I would just keep looking and be willing to travel to get the right truck...

Really. I want the sport seats, but got mine with comfort seats. I don't mind them at all, but if I can someday find a nice set of black sports, and trade for my white comforts I would do it. Has to be from a 4.8is though as my rears are heated.

My 02 4.6 has heated rears....fwiw


I think mainly taller, older (30+) want the comfort seats....just my observation

I came so close to getting a comfort seat trade.. at the last moment he backed out and sold the car. They are a direct fitment and replacement. Also adding rear heated seats is easy. I did mine the long and drawn out way. I am still on the hunt for some comfort seats..most on ebay run about 800 to 1,000 usd.

id give you mine but you want ones from a 4.8 and white or black right.. im only tan..and a 3.0

Yup, mine are white. I want black, and yes it has to be from a 4.6is or 4.8is, or any other model with rear heated seats.

I would love to swap for either Comfort or Sport seats in Black if anyone has them, I'm not picky just would like better seats than stock!
