Please help!!: 2004 X5 Hood Will Not Stay Closed
After I close the hood of my X5, and start driving. At speed, the hood pops open. Luckily I noticed it and came to a stop. Any temporary solutions? quick fixes? DIY? How much will it cost to get fixed? I live in DC. |

Fix the latches. The latch has to close over the striker, and if it hasn't been lubed for some time it can stick, ie not actually latch. It also has to be aligned properly to close properly. Finally, if the hood bumper stops are adjusted too high it may not latch completely, yet appear to be closed.
