X5...going...going...gone!

Well, after 2 1/2 years of ownership, we have sold our X. My opinions are mixed. Fun to drive, 15-19 mpg, solid vehicle, and somewhat problematic. A lot of small irritating problems popping up far too often. The navi screen wouldn't come on in low 40 degree temps until it warmed up slightly and the climate control never working properly were probably the two most irritating. I have to thank all of you who contributed to this forum as many problems I fixed were with the help you. I wish you all the best of luck. Btw, we replaced it with an Audi S4 avant.

I own an 06 3.0L that I custom order with most of the available options, but after so many problems, it will be my last BMW. My next car will be an Infiniti EX or FX. Sometimes I think BMW hire GM to build the X5.

If BMW hired GM, it would have probably been more reliable!

It's not my last BMW, but definitely my last American-made BMW.

I still love driving our M5. Lots less problems than the X and I think I've sorted out most of the problems to the point I think I'm going to hang on to it for awhile.

I appreciate opinions. But i still cant quite figure out why someone would take time out of their day to log onto a forum dedicated to the object they are about to trash and complain about.

Congrats! I like how this started out with you looking at an A4 and it turned into an S4 by the end. Great car, well done.

I think you hit the nail on the head- to vent!

I like my X. Great driver's SAV and I get 24 mpg highway sometimes. I love the way it looks right after washing/detailing, wouldn't have another SUV.

Congrats on the Audi. I like the look but they can empty a wallet faster than a BMW. At least I can wrench on my E39 and E53.
