Engine number location
I have looked every where in the most common places but still cannot find my engine number.I have removed all bottom plastic protections but no luck!I had Autodata on my Hdd but it died on me over Xmas and now I am using the oem Hdd which thankfully I still had configured with all my usual software,internet,etc.
I have TIS but cant get anything out if because it reads my Vin as INVALID which is weird since all other programs accept it ,including Realoem.com. Mine is a 2003 X5 3.0 Diesel.My Engine nr. should start with M57D.....

Ok!I will answer my own question!
If any of the Dieselheads ever need to find your Engine number it is located behind the oil filter body.Its stamped on the engine block with very small numbers and you need a small flashlight to read the numbers.
