Tahoe Pics

Braved the extreme weather this weekend to get some pow freshies. Took 10 hours to get here on Friday which included sitting around for 3 hours on 80E in near bilzzard conditions when there was a 4 car pile up in front of us and then an 18 wheeler went off the road.

Once things calmed down people were walking around on the now dark I80 parking lot until things got moving again around 3:30AM. I got home at 4:30 AM, got out of X and proceeded to promptly fall on my ass - ice everywhere.

If that weren't bad enough I had to shovel the bottom of our very steep driveway. Even with the spiders on the surface was so slick and grade to steep to get in there. I had to make about 4 attempts before i tried backing in. I bounced off the snow bank a couple times.

Saturday I was treated to sitting on 89 for an hour after night skiing @ Squaw due to another accident.

I plowed up the steep mountain streets with my summer tires, slipping and sliding all over the place. I must say I am impressed with the AWD system in the X.

When I got home again I had to shovel my driveway once again. This time when I approached my driveway I started slipping down the street ... I couldn't stop the truck no matter what, I had no control. At this point I was seriously concerned I was going to hit something. Of course a car started coming up the hill and was all pissed off at me as they went around. I started to try to point myself into my neighbors driveway. Luckily I was able to get the truck to stop by pressing very lightly on the brakes. I threw the spiders on - what a difference I was able to turn around easily and drive right into the driveway this time.

What you in CA? Damnit I'm sweating balls in NYC today. We didn't have any snow at all. A freak storm in October, but that melted just a quick.

that's what I say. Global cooling for you, and total warming for us over here. It has been insane all winter. I think the winter average temp was at 50 F. Tell me that is not Effed up.
