Try uship.com, you might be able to get a deal for less than what it would cost you in gas and all.... Good luck..

I cannot believe no one has otherwise come right out and told you this in no uncertain terms, so I will:

I think a number of laws, written or unwritten, specify that after generating such topic, you are now bound to take a bunch of pics at various stages of the venture and to post same, whether mission is deemed successful or otherwise. Including at least one with arm out window attempting to look that like that is helping, even though we all know it doesn't, as has already been directed by a member's previous post.

Should sanity revisit you before beginning such an expedition, you may consider putting it up there anyway, with afore- mentioned photo op strategically accomplished. You know, just so we have a visual of what "could have been" the next utube link sensation.

+1 for the USHIP idea. There are people just waiting to fill their loads from place to place. Be a bit patient though and let them bid. If you click "no" and give a reason why you wont use a particular shipper, they stop bidding. Just let it run out.

400 miles is a bit extreme for a mattress set, I think. However, I would do it if I had to. Just strap the thing down for tornado winds and you'll most likely be fine. And wrap the crap out of it. Chances are you'll have to stop and mess with it numerous times... Tighten straps, recover/wrap, reposition..etc. I wouldn't go 80 with it though... maybe 55ish... so be ready for a long ride...

And +1 for pics.. if you pull it off successful, and especially if not..
