There is a wire that runs to the bottom of the Expansion Tank. The sensor goes in the tank and the other side connects to the wire that communicates with the computer.

Mine have the plug ,but if your car came with low tech cluster then it doesn't plug into no where.

Does anyone know where the Brake pad Sensor plugs into?
If you do, call Santa Monica BMW stealer and tell them.
While our X5 was in the first 4 years, 2 or 3 times I brought it in making terrible noises from the front wheels and they said the brakes were completely shot, but we never got a message on the panel. Now I got a hunch they never installed new sensors, or didn't connect them. Yup, couple beers in me tonight
