Added speedo gauge decal -- small mph
Got a local decal guy to come over and have a look. A click of the camera, a few paper drafts later, and I have a decent OEM-style small mph decal for my speedo. A little tweak near the 90mph area looks to be a user install error, as the other numbers line up fine. My biggest complaint is that the nighttime dash lights don't show up the numbers very well. If you are looking to make your own, I printed my paper drafts at 2.1". The font is Impact. The double/triple digits of the speeds will cause misalignment of the decal -- hence the horseshoe shape here. If you are interested in purchasing your own, his email is [email protected] or his site at rctagz.com. He quoted $12.50 shipped in Canada. Crappy iphone pics below:

that looks ok however i have to tell you that 160 kmph is actually 100 mph so your accuracy is a little in doubt ( 1 mile equals 1.609 kilometres)
actually now i think about it i'm quoting imperial miles i think US miles are different |

Why is it out of round at the 12 o'clock area?

@Bigwave, in fairness, a guy is never gonna get it spot on, as it wasn't a properly measured (ie, rip the needles off) overlay that fills the whole gauge face. I've been using 1.6 as the multiplier.
I'm hoping that repositioning the decal will help. Looks like it might.

Your calibration of Kmh/Mph almost spot on...you right to have used 1.6 as the multiplier(Its actually 1.601,so you pretty close) and to me it looks spot on,with the exception of the 20MPH ,which =32 KPH and on you speedo it shows less than 30 KPH!All others, such as 80MPH=128 KMH,100MPH=160KPH......right to the end where 150 MPH=240KMH,are spot on. |

As a person that works on the metric system, I'll take a km/h instrument cluster anyday.
Whoever gets my X3 next is either going to have to program the units or learn to just read fuel consumption in l/100km. |

@PNG, thanks. If there was some suitable overlay premade via ebay, I'd have been all over it. I'm surprised I'm (apparently) the first Canuck to want to have a dualie speedo, when BMW decided otherwise.
@Powers thanks. I have since readjusted the sticker placement and its much more accurate all the way around the circle. Its great for me, as now I don't have to figure out/remember what the American speedzone signs mean in kph. @Bulk thanks. If I can get a negative response for a mod that has zero relevance to a poster, I must be doing something right.
