Problems with my X5 Several different once! :)
The last thing that made it get parked for a very long time is this: I was driving in the rain and all the sudden the 4x4 lamp came on the car seem to be loosing electrical power everything started blinking like its being shorted out. The Transmission Fail Safe msg. came on i parked the car and after a few hours and no more rain it started up again and i was able to drive it home. Few questions that i have are: The car need serious alignment done its very much out of alignment. The air suspension is still a problem its not sitting on its nuts rides fine but the air suspension msg. is always on wondering if that could be tripping the traction control or the 4x4 system? Also when i punch it pretty good and it feels like its going from side to side type of thing like the wheels are not all engaging together like they are not synchronized. I am wondering also if it could be a speed sensor issue. I hate to take it to the dealer because i have yet to have a positive experience

Christmas tree lights in the cluster are usually caused by weak voltage/alternator/battery.
Another cause is a bad ABS speed sensor.I had to replace one on the rear once it started to brake while I was going, even on the dry pavement. Quote:
