4..8iS tire change

Hello all,
I just got Bridgestone Duelers for my 05 4.8iS at Sears and was hoping to have them installed. They told me that they couldn't install them because they don't have the tools to adjust the air suspension system. Is this true? Can I only have the tires changed at the dealer? If that is the case will the dealer mount tires for me that I purchased elsewhere? And on a slightly related note, will it be an issue then if I jack up the X5 to change the oil? Seems weird if I would not be able to jack up my car so as not to screw up the air shocks. I'm not quite skinny enough to slide under it while it is on the ground, unless I covered myself with bacon grease and/or butter...
I know you all will have the answers, as you always do! Thanks in advance!

I don't think it should be an issue to jack it up. I have a 4.4 which only has the air suspension in the back and I've jacked it up numerous times without any issues. I've also worked on a Yukon with full air suspension many times and it hasn't had any issues either.

I think you should be fine getting the tires changed anywhere

No problem at all! Just jack it up and change the tires and put it down. Just that simple! Air suspension will not be srewed by jacking up the car. Just do it!

No. The air suspension auto levels and adjusts as long as everything is working normally. Be sure to get a fresh alignment once they're on.

they may be concerned because cars like the Lincoln Navigator ruins the rear air suspension if you dont know what you are doing when making a tire change.

I have Firestone or NTB put my tires on all the time. There is no issue lifting the x5.

In my Cayenne, you can disable the air suspension manually if you need to jackup the car. Maybe that's what they are looking for. Just another thing that BMW missed.

Regardless, I've had the 4.8is for tires and balancing multiple times and have not had issues with the air suspension without disabling it.

The air suspension DOES NOT need to be disabled on the BMW. That's what Porsche added
