Peeling X5

Help the X steering wheel is peeling. Is there any woodgrain solutuions that match the OEM dark woodgrain. I dont want to spend 150 bucks for a replacment piece when the black rubber is going to do the exact same thing and Peel off.

I seen some X steering wheels with this in titanium but thats not my model of steering wheel. Those were spoked.

Please assist if you know anything. I attached a pic of wheel.
Then i have to tackle the door handles there peeling too dealer wants $80 per handle for the same thing thats just going to peel to.

Rub off all the rubber so it matches and is the gloss black underneath?

The BMW replacement is no longer covered in rubber and therefore no longer peels.
I replaced my two years ago and have not had any issues since.
The part is $50 from ECS.

Putting a wood finish on that would be quite an accomplishment...
