New 2003 X5 Owner

Here is how I obtained my 2003 BMW X-5.

2 years ago I bought a 2003 F-150 SuperCrew.. gas prices went up.. I traded the truck straight up for a 2006 Toyota Prius with 98k miles. Loved the Prius and drove it for 1 year. Going fro 10 mpg to 50mpg was like getting a pay raise at work !

Sold the Prius on Friday for $ 13,500.. and bought this lovely X5 for $ 11,500 with 97k miles on it.

I love the black/black color combo and it drives great.
Not sure about the 'smokers package', it seems weird there are ashtrays in the front and back ( non-smoker here ).

Only issues:
1. The bluetooth does not work. When I hit the telephone button on the steering wheel or the telephone button on MID.. nothing happens. Doesn't even light up.
2. small ( dime-sized ) chip in windshield.
3. Seat warmers, and steering wheel warmers are so hot.. should be a fire hazard. hahah

I lived in Germany for 2.5 years while in the Army, So I understand the heated parts.

Any ideas on the bluetooth problems ?
I would like to possibly upgrade the radio with bluetooth ( phone ) and Iphone cord capability.

Ideas?

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
On a 2003 isn't that more of a "phone button" on the steering wheel than anything? Or like a voice command button?

Think about it, 10 years ago, did we even have bluetooth? haha

great pickup! exact same as mine except I have the tan interior. Black looks awesome though. As for the "bluetooth" it isn't bluetooth but its the answer button for the cellular phone package that went in the center console.

Well that makes sense !

I miss the 'fully loaded' Prius.. Bluetooth, Backup Camera, Ipod/Iphone hookup..

Any thoughts on upgrading the radio to something with bluetooth for phone calls and iphone music ?

NICE. i have same kind only oxford green and tan interior.
for the chip you should seal it up with a special kit.
and definitely take off that extra chrome.

Dice Media Bridge. Although I just found out they were bought out by Audivox. But this unit controls everything. And adds BT to the system. Works well with Apple products.

I would like to upgrade to a double din aftermarket radio that has bluetooth, and ipod/iphone hookups. But the local stereo shop said it would be $500 custom dash kit ( fiberglass ) to make it look good. Sounds like a crock...
