This is BMW of Bloomfield's EBay running board add for almost $100 less. It's where I bought mine last year for a bit less $. It is an OE part with instructions and is less that the link above that says it fits 'up to 2007' E53's.

aside from the obvious, the looks and the functionality, what are your opinions on those running boards as a user? as a matter of fact, if there is (are) lady(ies), who are using the cars with the boards, i'd like to hear from them... how are the boards for the high heels? if there is a long dress? short skirt? my wife told me once, she did not like them on a tahoe, but loved them on a suburban, or something to that effect... i thought tahoe and suburban were the same, but i did not argue with her...
so, i wonder if it is a mod that i need or not... lol...

We all need them, because they make the truck look bad ass. I still haven't pulled the trigger on mine, so anyone down for a little group buy?

I bought mine to ease the ingress and egress of the two women on opposite ends of my life- My daughter and my mother. My mother has been diagnosed with a progressively debilitating disease and my daughter.. well.. she was six when I bought them. Both can use them as a foot hold to get in and out more easily. The rubber tabs- or nubs- or whatever- are a nice way not to slip. The *other* woman in my life- my wife- is tiny, so she uses them to get up, in and out as well. No advice on apparel challenges.

*I* use them to get up to the roof when I wash and dry. They used to bother me b/c they do stick out a little further and that can cause a dirty pant leg if you're not careful. I am now a little careful and all is well.

And yes. They do look bad ass. I like the way the aluminum ties in with the wheels. I think it makes the thing look even a little bit more distinctive than it already does being 'Bite Me Blue'.

They're easy to clean with the same stuff I use for the wheels. I have had to replace a little rubber nubby things after one of my thick-headed friends got a little slippery on a night when I was designated driver. He used the running boards to get in and his shoes ripped one out. Oh well. Probably better one of those little things than where he might've put his foot otherwise.

I remember being very pleased with the look of the car after I installed them. A year later, I am pretty used to it, but I still do the look back and notice how nice the whole thing looks.
