I thought the Dinan lettering was a lot like the lettering that you could get from Bimmian http://www.bimmian.com/70 and then "Custom Badge Letters" --- so it may be able to purchased cheaply. There's even a picture of (some bozo that stuck) a "DINAN 3" on the back of his X.

Once again....

I’m having my 3rd set of DINAN badges put on this afternoon. Once again, they corroded from the winter weather here in NE. Dinan seems surprised but from what I’ve read, this is a common occurrence

Angry

My DINAN badges have now corroded for the 4th time!!!

I decided to de-badge them myself this time using a hair dryer and dental floss because I was tired at looking at them only to find this hidden underneath....

Not a happy camper, obviously the dealership "hid" the damage to the paintwork after removing the 3 previous badge sets by placing the lettering over the damage.....

Yea, mine were corroded big time too. Actually one of the N's was
ready to fall off. I decided to de-badge using a heat gun. I heated the
area from approx. 10" away from the trunk lid so I don't damage the
paint from the hot air. Eventually one by one they peeled off no problem,
but the damage was already done. A bit of corrosion (rust) penetrated
through the paint, so now it's a bit yellow in some spots where the
letters were.

Wow.

Sorry to hear about that guys. I've got an old-school Dinan badge (Dinan P/N: D713-100) and no issues to report.

I sent an email to my Dinan rep at my dealership with the pictures. I'm demanding that they repair the scratches to my hatch. Not sure it can be wet sanded or if it will need to be re-painted

Damn, I would be pissed. Looks like a few of those are beyond wet sanding..

Hey guys, as you all know, my X5 has all the Dinan Performance mods available for the E53.
The previous owner spent alot of money.
Here's my dilemma, "DINAN" badge or no badge?

The Dinan letters corroded & pitted so badly that they were just about to fall off!
I emailed Dinan and this is what I said:

Hi xxxxx, here's a couple pics (Dinan Emblem & X5) as per our discussion
last week:

I removed the DINAN emblem because it was pitted pretty bad, and some of the letters were ready to fall off.
Can you guys send me another one please? Do I have to pay for it?
Thank you,
Spiros

There reply:
According to your VIN the mods are more than enough to support the badge.
We can supply a replacement badge for $49.00 USD, please let me know how you would like to proceed.

Shouldn't Dinan provide me with this badge for free. After all, I'm advertising their
company????

Not to be rude or saying that your Dinan badge is fake, but it looks a bit off to me. Here is the actual Dinan badge from Dinan.

Myself, bsprtsgrp & a few others have the style that I posted in
the above photo. (Few pics below also)

Not 100% sure, but I think the one you have is the newer style
DINAN badge?
That's actually the one that they would send me for $49. (1 pc)
