New Project Done! VSM, iLink and Back up cam Installed!

Hello,

Added new mods this & past week,
VSM and iLink from EAS,
Thank you so much Tom and Steve from EAS, I couldn't even finish this without your helps!!! you guys ROCK!!!
also added back up cam from this GB, I was lucky enough to get the last stock they had left.

ok, here it goes,
got the first aid kit from LeatherZ
Thank you statdoc!!

iLink and iPod fit in first aid kit perfectly,

here is inside view - iLink, iPod and all the wires are hidden.

Video Source Module from EAS, it works as TV module, so no need to add oem TV module to make it work with back up cam or others.
Also, it has TWO video inputs.

this is where I mounted my back up cam,
Thank you ncx for great article and tips!

Souce selector switch, I needed to add this switch for iLink,
back up cam has trigger itself which is a back up light,
but iLink & iPod doesn't have any tirggers, so I need to turn on that switch when I need play video or/and etc
remote control and remote eye for iLink.

Stock nav screen switches to Back up cam screen once I put reverse, then it gose back to stock screen

iLink uses stock AUX mode, it's just simple plug and play wire behind the stock Nav screen.

once I turn on that source selecor switch on,
I see these menus, you can play mp3, picture slide show, video and etc.

select Video, then you will see this screen,
iPod is working as a "Hard Drive" no need to do file convert job or other things.
iLink will play Music files (MP3 and WMA), Photos (Jpg, Bmp and Gif) and Videos (MPEG 1/2/4, DivX and Xvid)
I bought iPod photo 60GB from craigslist for $120 to use it as a hard drive.

iLink Plays Video (mpeg file) through stock Nav screen.
Great picture quality and sounds!!
and control them all by one small remote control.

I put first aid kit under the driver's seat, (ooops I need to close it again)
all wires are hidden, you just need to open it when you need to take the iPod out.

I'm still using ice>link Plus, I know iLink can still play the MP3, but I just wanted to keep OEM wheel controls, since I could make these all work together.

I'm really happy with these mods, and now I can make my buddies just shut up while I drive
Once Again, Thank You guys all who helped me out to finish this mod!!

Excellent job. I really like the way you installed and mounted everything. A very clean and stealth look.

Great work. I am in the middle of doing same. I got the same back-up cam. Am I OK if I get iLink and VSM kit to work with iPod or do I need the Ice>link as well? What fucntionality do I loose if I do not use Ice>link?

iLink comes with small remote control, and basically you can control everthing.
the reason I kept ice>link Plus (I already had one before I install this mods) is,
just wanted to keep OEM Wheel controls

if you don't have or don't want to add ice>link (actually you don't have to add), you are not loosing anything,
cuz you can still control iLink by remote control.

one thing that you need to know is,
once you switch over to VSM mode, you won't see Nav screen - no map, no setup and etc,
unless you turn off that source selector switch to go back to Nav screen (but you still can hear the sounds, if you are in AUX mode)

Great job! Everything turned out really nice. I like your first aid Ipod install, works very well for that.
Congrats on some well-done additions!

Excellent job!

That's quite a project. Your stealth install is very creative and ingenious, and I'm really diggin' that back up cam, too. Everything is integrated, quite nicely.

As we say in RI, "wicked" good.

Great job, Kriss.
