Help! Smoke from Tailpipe

My 05 4.4 with 65xxx miles drives no problem at all.

The problem is once a while it will spit out a cloud of smoke especially when idleing in red light or freeway. This happen like once a week or so...

Can any one help me with this issue and tell me the problem??

Thank you so much,

~K

It's probably because you never treat the motor to some full throttle fun. This is my theory, and I'm sticking to it.

The color of the smoke is important too. And make sure it's not just condensation. A combustion engine usually produces a gallons worth of water vapor for every gallon of fuel burned. That's why mufflers occasionally rust from the inside out.

And you clear this condensation how? By moving loads of air, and getting your engine nice and hot. Refer to post 2 for proper procedure.

Welcome to the smoke club!

I'm living the same problem right now. I have a thread below that might help...or you can just search for CCV.

While it won't really do damage, and you can just keep adding oil, it does get annoying having to deal with it. I would pull out the CCV's and check to see if they are gunky. If they are, that's your problem. If not, then you might have to clean out he valve covers and get new gaskets for them.

Some people suggested trying some AutoRX (i think that's what it's called) but if you have bad gaskets it won't do much.
