Doms X5 48is is on a distinguished road
Hey Guys! New member here! Question on Style 214 Wheels on my e53!

Hey guys. The name is Dom and I am from Long Island, NY.
First wanted introduce myself and my car.
I own a garden center and wholesale center on the north shore of Long Island and my stable of BMW's starts with a 2005 745LI purchased brand new. We have a 2010 3.0 X5 purchased brand new.
And my daily driver is a 2002 X5 4.6is purchased brand new.

I am looking to update the wheels on my E53 to the Style 214 2008 X5 4.8 wheels. I absolutely fell in love with these wheels. I currently have the stock OEM brand new tires on all 4 20" wheels, along with the stock wheels as you will see in the picture. If I would like to purchase the 2008 model y spoke Style 214 wheels seen here at this link:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/20-BMW-X5-X6...item4603d60d25
What would I need to do to make them fit #1 on my current tires, and #2 on my chassis without rubbing? Do I need spacers? What size wheels do I currently have I think they are 20 X 9.5 in the front and 20 X 10.5 in the back? Or is it 20 X 10 in front and 20 X 11 in back? ughh I need help!
Short summation: I want to swap out my stock wheels for the new 2008 to 2012 Style 214 x5 premium 20" wheels! What needs to be done?

Here are some pictures of the car in question:

If you decide to go with style 214, I'll buy the style 87 from you when you decide to sell them. They are 9.5" and 10.5" wide fronts and rears, with ET45 and ET30 respectively.
You will need hub-ring to fit them on your E53. You can fit your current tires on them. With those spec, I would recommend 10mm in the rears to bring it back to same offset as your current ones.
Short answer: Buy those wheels and swap the tires, get hub-rings. Put them on and sell me those style87s
How about I buy those style214 and we swap?

thanks for the quick response man! I will definitely sell you my current wheels if I can figure out how to order and fit the new wheels. I think I posted the wrong link to the 214's I wanted. I wanted the 20 X 10 style 214's in the front and the 20 X 11 in the back. These are the OEM 2007 to 2012, the ebay link I sent was the wrong version of them

So just to clarify I currently have 20 X 9.5's in the front and 20 X 10.5's in the back? Thanks for the help man! Do you think my tires and chasis would work with 20 X 10's and 20 X 11 style 214s?

Those are replica wheels, not oe...not suggesting they are not 'quality', but they are 'reps'.

As tmv noted, several posters here have had good luck with hub centric rings, as E70 wheels have a bore hole of 74 mm vs the 72.5 bore hole diameter you currently have on your oe Style 87s. Also, the wheel bolts may differ slightly, as oe E70 wheels call for M14 x 1.25 thread vs M14 x 1.5, but other posters may have a workaround for that...

I am a fan of 214s, esp in OE configuration, but your oe 87s may be the finest looking wheel BMW ever put on any X, imo.

.5" increase in width should be fine with your current tires size too. You would re-use the OEM wheel bolts so there should be no problem there either.

Guys I just wanted to say thanks for all of the quick and informative responses. I never thought I would get my answer in less than 1 day on here. Sweet. Your not going to believe it but after seeing everyone state that my current wheels are the nicest X wheels ever in production I started staring at my pictures and loving my current wheels all over again. hehe That means off to the detailer on Friday this week to have the truck detailed and brought back to new status and skipping on the style 214 purchase. But if I ever have a quick change in mind at least I have this information here and I will definitely keep the site in mind if I decide to sell.

Awesome site BTW! Thanks for all of the info so far.

Dom
