Warm A/C then loud bang under good
Hey guys,
I've tried searching around the forums and I haven't web able to find any similar situations to what happened, so I'm hoping some of you can help me out.
I have an 04 3.0, it's been pretty much problem free and I love it. I haven't been driving it very much the last 2 months tho since it's summer I've been using my bike most of the time. I was driving around for about 4 hours on Saturday, running the A/C the whole time since it was a hot day. I parked and was sitting in my car for about 15 minutes with the A/C running when I noticed it starting to get warm. All of a sudden I heard a loud bang/pop noise from user my hood, then smoke everywhere, then fluid draining out from under the car.
My coolant levels are fine so it's not that, so I figured it must be one of the A/C hoses that blew. I looked at the diagrams from realoem and followed the hoses and couldn't find any apparent leaks or hoses off or anything. What could I be missing? Is there a hose that blows more usually than others? What's the best way to figure out where my leak is?
I hooked up an A/C recharge kit and there is no pressure and definitely won't keep a charge in.
Thanks a lot for your help.
Alex
