4.8IS Oil Filter Cap Jammed?

I changed my oil this weekend but I couldn't get the oil filter cap off. It's in such a tight space right there by the oil pan that maybe I'm just not able to get enough leverage to get the thing off. I'm certain that I'm turning in the right direction as I imagine that its the same as on my 330 which I've done a bunch of times with no fanfare.

Anyone with a 4.8IS have any ideas or tricks that might help? My local indy did my first two oil changes on the truck and I could just swing by there but I'm hoping to get this figured out myself for future reference.

Make sure you have the correct size wrench and give it a good tug. Counter clock wise is how you are supposed to turn it.

I'm definitely turning it the right way, I double checked myself when I was under there the first time. I guess I will get back under there tonight after it cools down and give it one more shot.

Most likely the last time the oil was change someone really cranked down the cap. You're probably going to have to put some serious muscle behind it to brake it loose.

My 4.4 filler cap also sticks. I have a GIANT pair of channel locks in my toolbox I use to loosen it. If I have to put oil in out on the road, I'm screwed!
