Alex, before you do any cosmetic mods, take care of the more important stuffs. Your cluster lid up like a Xmas-tree, is not a good sign.

Your right! It's the abs problem. Abs, brake, traction lights.
It's in the shop right now being fixed. But it's In overall good
Shape under the hood.

Dear Alex,

Get your BM back from the shop. Your solution is simple.

The cause: low battery, or detached battery.

The effect: steering sensor center point calibration gone.

The remedy: start car, turn steering wheel fully to the left, then fully to the right, and the lights will go off.

Save yourself some money for such an easy way out!

Already put brand new battery. Most expensive one. Did not steering angle reset. Brought to shop with gt1 tester. He resets it and it goes back to abs disabled. Causing the lights. My guess is bad abs module?

Resetting does not help. If the steering sensor has lost it's calibration, the ABS and Traction control modules cannot operate effectively.

I had this problem when my car was being professionally cleaned. They had left the radio on, draining the battery. At first attempt to start the car, the car voltage dropped very low. We jump-started the car and the same ABS and TC lights came on. Even the engine management light came on.

I also though about a dealer reset, but then found the steering wheel sensor issue on one of these BMW forums. The TC and ABS lights went off straight away, leaving the engine management light still on. At a longer drive (several kms, miles), also the engine management light went of. We did not visit a dealer since...

Really, try this first before spending your money on ABS module repairs.
If it does not work out for, you can still consider to go for a further inspection.

How would I fix a steering sensor calibration?

So far the fuses been checked and all connections.
Still nothing. Guy thinks its the abs computer.

As I mentioned earlier

The remedy:
1. start the engine,
2. turn steering wheel fully to the left,
3. turn steering wheel fully to the right

Presto! the lights will go off!

There is nothing more to it!

Technical explanation:

For traction control, the various wheel speeds and the steering wheel position are used to calculate potential slip situations.

If the steering wheel calibration is off, the TC module "sees" a steering angle away from dead center. When over time, it cannot make sense of this offset with almost equal wheel speeds (i.e. when driving straight ahead), it "suspects" a steering sensor error, and goes into fault mode (i.e. not active).

Would the TC module not enter into fault mode, it would start to control the various traction settings, causing the car to behave strangely. So clearly this fault mode is necessary to avoid any unwanted traction control.

The steering sensor dead center value is stored in a volatile memory. When the voltage for this memory drops, it looses its value. At regain of voltage supply, the steering sensor is made to automatically self-calibrate itself by detecting full-left and full-right positions and calculating the dead center as the angle between the two extremes. It's that simple.
