drivers rear regulator

girls x5, her mechanic tore door apart and has a part on order, i'd assume it's the regulator , but she made a mistake and pressed the window button, when she pressed up the window went down, and now i can't seem to get it all the way up at all, the cable is super tight , so my question is

can i just cut the cable? does the new regulator come with a new cable that will feed into motor?

or is detaching window from regulator the answer? my thinking was if i cut cable i could use a pair of vise grips on the slide to hold it up

Regulator comes with all you need but not the motor.
You can cut the cable.

Good luck,

Helmuth

If you are in the door you could easily save some money and change the regulator by yourself. Easy thing with the door card already removed.

Have fun

oh believe me, i would, but she all ready had it to him and hes got her door panel and all that, so i can't really get involved, i did say next time ask me

but previous owner is paying for this and a new caliper and hose so......but yeah, i hate anyone touching my 330 lol

he could have easily went across town and gotten parts at dealer, but he's making her wait a week for them, which tells me he's getting his cut, typical mechanic vs woman deal

Sounds like you took the better route.

Next time, do it yourself. There is an extensive thread on this fix.
