Picking up a 4.6IS
Hi guys i've been lerking on the forums the last few days as I was looking into getting a 4.6is recently.Great help for us buyer's in the UK as there's not so many of these 4.6is's around.
Anyhows I'm think i'm going to buy this nice 4.6IS tomz probably! Nice spec:These are factory options over the standard 4.6IS all-ready high spec: 4.6is Metalic black .Black leather Tracker,(bmw fitted) Running Boards Titan line Trim Double glazing Climate Double SunRoof Electric folding heated wing mirrors Ski bag Rear seat heating Bmw Upgrade hi-fi Comms packs (sat nav tv etc) Black on Black like i wanted and no nasty wood trim etc. 95k Genuine I've check the BMW History with BMW 14 visits and 8 Services last was 2011 March. Only thing I'm worried about testing when I get there is the gearbox as I know there prone to going.I know theres a dodgy first to 1st-2nd downchanges being ruff.I've never driven an x5..Well drove a mates 4.4 2004 years ago but can't for the life of me remember how smooth the gears where. Is there some tell tell signs you guys can give? Only thing that was putting me off these beasts online it seems your gearbox on the 4.4-4.8IS will deffo go before 120k.OR is this just a case of every person with a gearbox gone coming online? and really its just 20% of these cars? Great site! Deffo going for x-pipes first mod! thanks |
