Supersprint

Ok after bit of research of the best way to get the V8 rumble and roar out of my 2002 4.6IS

First i thougth it would be a simple x-pipe mod but it seems x-pipes and straigth pipes loose torque in the mid-range which I dont want on a car where the driving style needs torque,Plus for some reason I read x pipe on a 4.6is gives hardly any noise difference..don't get me wrong I don't want it so its undrivable but I want it loud! Atleast e63/sl55 AMG standard maybe 10-20% more.

Anyhows I been looking at back boxes...Seems best way to get alot of noise and not loose performance (if anything gain a few hp) problem is I love the boxie rear style on the 4.6is tailpipes the tailpipe porn IMO ..My mechanic said he could get me some cheap backboxes of a exhaust maker he knows and cut my tips off and weld them to fit giving the same look. For around the £200 which isn't bad.

Then I looked on google.I see a supersprint backbox same style at mine on offer for under £500.Now I allways driven BMW and know supersprint have a big following.Problem is I cant find one video of one to hear the sound?

BMW X5 Supersprint Back Box Square - Discounts at Motorsport World

Can't even find any decent pics of it fitted?

Any help guys? I'm willing to shell out the extra bucks if it sounds great but if its too quite i'll get the custom stuff made up for half the price.

Hello from another +49 member (if it refers to age )
I have done a lot of 3.0D exhausts ,but only a few Petrol X5s!Nonetheless,I can still ret to point you in the right direction and also give you some tips.

Regarding the more noise, what a lot ,members here have done is put an X-pipe and you find quite a lot info here
http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...ease-help.html

Regarding the Supersprint, yes ,it is a very good quality system and about the best you can get! However ,note that its not just £500.00!You will need 2x muflers ,which will be £1000.00!Also ,the tailpipes are a bit smaller than on the 4.6/4.8is.
Heres the Supersprint and the last pic ,is the 4.8is tips welded on my OE 3.0D mufflers.

Thanks mate,

Well there goes my supersprint out the window lol i thougth it was for 2

Had a supersprint on my E36 Yeaars ago and was surprised how cheap it was,Thougth I spotted a bargain lol

I think best option for me is to get my mechanic to get 2 aftermarket back boxs and weld my tips on the end.

So your an exhaust maker youself dude?
