Wow, event at 6K, that seems like a good deal. Expect to put some work into and you've got a nice truck for under 12k

Not a good deal! I picked up a one owner, 100k mile, late production date, '03 4.4 sport pkg with all options for under 13k over 2 years ago. Full service records, never hit, never used as a tow vehicle, PPIed, Carfax, Florida delivered/titled (found 1st owners business card in manual folio and called him, never seen snow, even now at almost 9years old). Traded in Sanford Acura (previous owners wife wanted a new "edgy" look ZDX). Even negotiated a 90 day powertrain warranty into the deal.

KBB an '01 X with 270,000 miles and you will see that the cost of a reman trans plus installation exceeds the vehicles value. The seller needs to drastically drop the asking price or part it out.

This is 2 yrs newer, 1/3 the miles and only $4k more!

From fading memory, there are a few Xs here with that much, and Wally has 300k plus, I think...

I am over 150k miles and have only needed a waterpump, belts, coolant tank, battery (OE lasted over 8 years), right front turn signal bulb, R134a recharge and FSR. Changed ALL fluids at 100k miles.
Just got the cam timing tools and will be ordering the cam chain guides soon because I consider 150k half life of the X5 with the M62 engine.

Currently in the market for one of the last M62 powered, 6 spd manual trans E34 (540i). whatever tools I buy to keep the X on the road will double duty on the M62 in the 540i.

SOOOOO pissed I missed this '03!!! Only had 13k miles! Called to set up appointment and book flight, was informed its been sold.
2003 BMW 540i Sport 6 Speed For Sale

All it needed was a set of stealth bulbs to kill the "egg yoke" look of the rear turn signals and wheel spacers for perfection!!!
