The dreaded rear upper control arms...
Hi all,
I'm hoping that someone can help me out a bit here. I have a 2001 3.0 (coil springs) with the bedspring creak coming from the rear upper drivers side control arm (had the wife rock the car while I was under, and the squeak is coming from where the ball joint attaches to the wheel carrier). So, I have a brand new pair of Febi rear uppers. I have seen the Bentley video, which doesn't show how to remove/reinstall the sensors attached to the arm. Has anyone done a detailed write-up on this entire procedure? The search function shows me lots of questions, and some answers, but nothing step-by-step. Is it indicated to put a jack under the wheel carrier to maintain load on the spring? And how would you go about setting the torque on the bolts to spec with the wheel back on?
Thanks!
