Issues with bumps/ rough road

Ok, just want to make sure it's not something beyond the torque converter and or tranny in my 04 4.8. When going over bumpy railroad tracks or get that hard thump from an unavoidable pot hole I feel something wobbling / vibrating while increasing in speed. No slipping of the tranny or engine over rev'ing as related to the tranny.

Could something else be wrong to cause this?

Thanks!

How are your rear bushings?

When the trailing arm bushings went bad on my E46 I would feel a strange wobble or unsteadiness. It would even start to feel like the power was being used more from one side when accelerating hard (technically it did only put power to one side at a time because of the open diff but the car would literally veer/pull some).

Can you describe it a little better? What sort of speed? What/where do you feel the wobbling and vibration?

I'm leaning towards it being the TC I'm feeling. It vibrates through the floor and steering when accelerating from a slow roll or a 20-30 mph hard thud over a bump.
What's weird is the TC and tranny would shift and run smooth then, hit the bump and then I feel the vibes with high rpm's. I think it's all related to the TC going tits up.

hmmm, sounds almost exact to mine particularly the 20-30mph bit!! All except the going over a bump, I don't need a bump for it to happen.

I've been reading up on this http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...on-issues.html with great interest as I feel (for my situation at least) it could be the answer, in that it may be the valve body.. Hope this helps in some way..?
