4.4i vs 4.6is costs

is the 4.6is any more expensive to maintain than the 4.4i considering they basically have the same parts?

Thanks!!

same parts.......different engine size......same everything just more aggressive look exterior and interior....otherwise..i would go for 4.6 or 4.8is...... should ve made that descision before i got mine.....cuz you may end up converting it to 4.8is for more meaner look...goodluck

brakes and tires are a bit more pricey but everything else is pretty much the same including fuel economy (negligable difference).

Are you in the market for a 4.6iS? If so, there's a true enthusiast on the East coast with a one-of-a-kind and well cared for '03.

4.4 pros: Insurance 15-20% cheaper, gas 10-15% cheaper, purchase price 15-20% cheaper, tires 25% cheaper, wheels cheaper, motors are a dime a dozen.

4.4 cons: Not rare by any stretch of the imagination, not as optioned as 4.6, generally owned by soccer moms.

4.6 pros: rare, only 2800 for USA, more powa', style 87 wheels, generally owned by enthusiasts,

4.6 cons: motors almost impossible to find on used motors, price, insurance, gas.

At the end of the day you will need to decide which one is right for you, but IMO the 4.6 is the way to go if you have the scratch.
