p0022

hey everyone.. i got the check engine light on. the code is p0022 camshaft position bank 2 over retard.. car runs fine.. i may feel a little loss in power or it could be in my head.. any ideas? its a 2001 4.4i non sport .. thanks

I would clear it and see if it comes back. If it does, then I will diagnose further.

i did clear it.. some times it takes days to come back and sometimes just hours

Did you replace the CPS with OEM units or aftermarket brand?
Aftermarket brands tend to fail early. Also, check the connections and the physical condition of the CPS and wires. They could be kinked or damaged and sending a faulty signal.?? Just thinking out loud type of thing.

OEM is not OE. OE is BMW. OEM is possibly garbage, especially electronics.
