Help needed diagnosing SRS Errors - Scan Data Attached
I'm chasing some help diagnosing a series of SRS errors which have caused the airbag light to come on. I am unable to clear the errors which from my reading indicates that there's still an issue(s) somewhere. The light originally came on during a front right door handle carrier replacement exercise (stupidly forgot to disconnect the battery). I have got BMW Scanner 1.4.0 which to my knowledge should be able to clear the SRS errors once the underlying problems are solved. Here are the errors that the software identifies... The one curious thing is that the software identifies the faults as 'not present'. I have successfully used the software to clear similar errors from other modules, however the SRS module is not cooperating. Hence why I'm thinking that the underlying problems need to be sorted first. If anyone could please suggest where to start with correcting these errors, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Did you already check the fuse for the SRS?

Yes. Checked the fuse and all is good there.
I have a suspicion that this is going to be a tough one to sort out. I'm hoping that with some help I can at least get enough info to take to a good Indy and steer them in the right direction to solve the problem as efficently as possible.

I'm thinking that you may have a pinched wire in there or something...

That was going to be my first port of call. I assume the places to look would be under both seats and the wiring looms into the doors?

Well, since you didn't have any issues until the door was taken apart, that would be the first place I'd look

Yep. That's definitely where I'm heading first. It seems like there's error in almost all SRS systems but hopefully a pinched wire or bad connector in the drivers door may be the reason for the other errors.

Exactly what I'm thinking... there are too many errors in multiple systems that weren't even touched...

the fault code for internal control unit fault is more suspect to me than a pinched wire. Pinched or broken wires would set a currently present fault for the affected circuit. Each firing circuit is wired to the SRS by itself and doesn't set faults in other circuits. The common item is the SRS unit. I have replaced too many too count SRS units for that internal fault and all the other faults are just set because the SRS is freaking out for a second. Could be just bad timing for the SRS unit to do that during the door repair

Thanks for the info. For reference, where is the SRS control unit located, are they hard to replace DIY and what would be the rough cost for a new unit?
