European glass mirror

Would this european glass mirror fit into the NA mirror case or I would have to get the NA version?

BMW E53 X5 M62 4.4L > Exterior > Mirrors > ES#83048 European Aspherical Mirror - Left - 51167039595

I would ask ECS. However, since it seems to be OE for the X5 over there I would think it would be no problem as far as physical fit. I wouldn't think that the side mirror physical dimensions were different. Maybe wiring connections may not be the same.

Maybe check out realoem and see if the attachment part has the same part numbers. If so, then you're good to go.

Right, mine are auto dim but not heated. It looks like the European version have a thicker plastic trim. I hope they will fit.
I just bought them of eBay heated as well. I am not sure I can easily retrofit the heating part or if my car is wired for that.

If you mean the plastic trim around the mirror glass, I'm thinking its probably not a problem.

I just don't think that BMW would make different physicallly sized side mirror housings just to accommodate bigger mirrors - more like they will reduce the mirror to fit in the existing housing.

Of course, I'm just speculating.

i used euro parts on my US spec's E34, E39 and E53, they are all plug-n-play... I used the mirrors, I loved them... Some people used thinner glove compartment lids (less padding on euro version) for more legroom, plug and play...

Easiest way to open the mirror cover is using three plastic cards and shove them into the bottom seam between the pieces on the inner circumference of the mirror assembly... there are some write-ups about the trim removal, it seems to be the MOST difficult part of this mod...
