whats my X5 worth

Hey Guys, Im still a newbie here, own a 2001 X5 3.0 that I purchaed in March 2010 from original owner with 90k miles. It now has 136k miles and is always garaged and meticulously maintained. I was hoping someone could tell me what a fair price to sell it for would be. I paid $12,900 for it two years ago as I mentioned with 90k miles. It drives great, so far have had to replace alternator, coils, plugs, MAF, rotors, pads, and three window regulators. It now needs a left front cv joint, have both sides already. Also needs rear alignment ajusted for camber, as since I switched to 18" wheels, the past few months its been wearing the rear tires on the insides all the way around where you can see the white tread and wire belts come out. Paint is excellent aside from normal road debris marks on front end, and no dents or dings, and clean interior and upgraded to all weather floor mats so carpet is like new still. Im not a premium member so I cant post it for sale here, but just thought I would get some of your opinions as what to ask for it. Dont want to trade it in, or I would get not much for it. I was hoping to get at leat $9k for it.

Thanks

Dan

You didn't list what options and packages you have. I think color combo can make a bit of a difference too. The need for CV work and new tires will factor in too.

Mrbmwx5 that's pretty good for the mileage. Did you sell it with the mods?

I have the standard model, not the sport package. I dont have the headlight washers on the bumper, but I have the radio controls on the steeringwheel. I still have the original window sticker from original owner who paid $45k for it.

I'm going to guess you have Premium Package on yours then. (Leather, moon roof, automatic climate controls, plus.)

$9,000 is about right to start. If there is nothing otherwise outstanding with yours $9,000 is about top of the range. I was doing some research a few months ago on what a '02 3.0 Sport and Premium with around 100K miles was worth and those were only around $10-$12K on average. I was going to sell mine and wound up trading it in to save the hassle of privately selling it and doing several big maintenance fixes that were obviously due.

ridiculous offer

Without even seeing my car in person, a local used car dealer wanted go give me $3500 for my 01 X5 3.0 with 136k on the clock and in excellent condition. He said thats the auction price. He said a normal dealer could give you more, but we only sell cars purchased from insurance companys like thefts, salvaged, and light water damaged vehicles If anyone wants to buy it, I will go $7800 bottom line. call me for info 203 206-6406 Dan, in CT.
