2012 X5 3.5i Exhaust question/concern
I have new 2012 X5 3.5i which had some engine issue that dealer needed to fix prior to delivering the car to me. Hence, my confidence level is low and I am "looking" for new engine problems to pop up. Recently I noticed one unusual thing which I hope someone will help shed some lights on. I have noticed that most of exhaust volume ( I would say 90%) comes out only out of left (driver side) tailpipe and barely anything comes out of right tailpipe. Is this by design for V6 or a sign of someting not right with the engine/exhaust system? I owned 2004 4.4i before and as far as I can remember equal fume volume was coming out of V8 engine.

I would appreciate if some 2012 X5 3.5i owners on this thread can start the car run it for a few minutes and the place a hand behind each tailpipe Does approx. equal volume of exhaust emmisions come out from both tailpipes?

No, you'd need to do a zip tie mod to get even flow, otherwise the valve on the passenger side is closed at idle. That or get the performance exhaust.

First, BMW does not make a V6. They make inline 6's. Second, I would post your question in the E70 forum. You will most likely have better luck there. Good luck.
