Oil pressure/oil level warning... Problem or one-time fluke??
Hey folks, had something strange happen yesterday with the X5. Started her up and after about 3 seconds the 'Stop! Oil Pressure Low' warning came up on the cluster followed by the 'Check Oil Level' warning. I of course immediately shut the car off and checked things out. My oil level was normal, and I didn't see anything else awry in the engine compartment or underneath. Also FWIW, when I got the warning, the oil pressure dummy light was not lit in the dash... The engine sounded completely normal and smooth as usual. After looking around, I started her up again, and all was fine, with no warnings or lights. I've since started and turned off the car 5 or 6 times running my usual errands and have not had any more warnings crop up. The car is running just as strong and smooth as usual, and has not been burning oil at a rate anything outside of the ordinary... Could this just have been the result of some sensor glitch? I'm understandably a bit confused and concerned since I've never had that happen before. Any insight is appreciated.
