SOLVED - Engine Stubles when cold - with SES

This morning, it was colder than normal - about 43 degrees. When I got to the bottom of my hill, which is about a half mile from my house, I stopped at the stop sign, and the engine was stumbling and running rough. Looked down at the gauges, and the SES light was flashing. Put it in neutral and revved it a bit, and it went back to normal, and the SES light went out. Any ideas what this might be? I have a Paeke code reader for my M5, but I don't think that the X5 has the 20 pin connector under the hood.
